If your vehicle is stuck in off-road terrain and has lost the traction it needs to escape, this recovery strap will help pull it free. The strap is designed to stretch and recoil. This means that when it is put under tension, the strap stretches until snapping back to its resting length, "slingshotting" the vehicle out of its jam.
This recovery strap has a twisted loop at either end for securing to the tow vehicle and the recovery vehicle. Once the strap is attached, slowly move the recovery vehicle away from the stuck vehicle. This will initiate the stretch and recoil action and pull the stuck vehicle free.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com.Today we're going to take a quick look at the Erickson recovery strap. This is a 3 inch wide, 20 foot long strap that can help get you pulled out of a pothole, or ditch, or basically any other off-road terrain situation that you've gotten stuck in. It does have a snap-back kind of functionality to it. It's going to stretch between 7% and 10% so that, as you put the pressure on that, it's going to want to recoil. So that's going to give you that extra jolt to pull you out of whatever situation you've got yourself in.The ends are a twisted loop.
So you can see here, they don't perfectly lay flat so it's going to be very easy to get those hooked onto your tow hook or shackles. Of course, those are sold separately; this is just the recovery strap. But this is going to be a very heavy-duty strap for you. It's got a maximum vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds, a maximum load or break strength of 22,500 pounds, so very heavy duty. I really like that the snap functionality to it.
Because of the material here, going to allow it to give you not only just the pulling effect of another vehicle, but that snapping ability of the strap itself to help get you out of those sticky situations.Overall, just a very simple but effective strap to help you. Looks great! Very yellow! That's all I can say because I haven't used it yet but it's a good looking strap.
I recently purchased a hitch 3 class, tow rope, and tow hook, and now pin lock, make sure when you order a tow hook etc, you don't do what I did and not order the lock and pin. Those are separate. Other than purchase, services are excellent, products are packaged wonderfully, and shipment was extremely fast and on time. Very well done. Honestly, I don't do reviews but this was a must. Very very please. Will be shopping here again soon. Tell friends and family to order here. Since I just got products I will soon install and take pictures to post.
I have not used the recovery strap, and hope I never need to. However, it looks to be made to do the job if I ever do.
