Replacement Tail Light Assembly For 2005 Airstream Trailer

Updated 11/19/2014 | Published 11/18/2014

Question:

1. Will this tail/stop light work as a direct replacement on a 2005 Airstream 19foot Bambi with round LED tail lights? 2. It sounds like this unit is completely and permanently sealed. Does this mean that the bulb cannot be replaced? Specifically, when the bulb burns out, does the entire tail light assembly have to be replaced?

We offer several lights and may have just what you are looking for that will fit your 2005 Airstream.

Thank you for the photo of your lights. You will want to take a measurement to be sure you get a light that will match the housing you are installing it in. if you remove a light you may be able to get the part number of the light assembly. If you cannot find the part number you can measure the opening and mounting holes to make sure we get a light that will work.

The light assembly you referenced, part # ST48RB is a 4 inch sealed, incandescent light assembly. Since this is sealed, you are correct that the bulb cannot be replaced on this light.

Since you mentioned replacing the LED lights, and the photo you sent appears to be LEDs I recommend replacing them with LEDs as well. For a 4 inch LED light assembly I recommend part # STL42RB. This light is a sealed, round 4 inch stop, turn, and tail light assembly and has 10 Super LEDs. Since this is a sealed light, the diodes cannot be replaced on this assembly. I have attached a drawing that shows the dimensions and the mounting holes as well. This light measures 5-1/2 inches diameter and 1-15/16 inches deep. The 3 mounting holes are placed 4-1/4 inches apart. I have attached a link to a product review video for this light you may want to take a look at.

This light does require a 3-prong pigtail like part # A45PB for installation. I have attached a drawing of this plug you can check out as well.
