Question:
My current RV AC unit uses a remote control. I dont see a remote option on the current Furrion and Coleman AC units. My wife cannot reach the ceiling for the Furrion manual control unit. What options are available that use a remote? Thanks!

Hey Rick. I've got a couple of options for you to install an AC system that has a remote.
The 18,000 btu Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box item # FR99TD in white or item # FR39TD in black are designed for ducted setups and both include a remote control. The item # FR27TD in black or item # FR59TD in white are what you'd need if you have a ductless system. These systems include an AC unit, air distribution box, and a remote control.
The 18,000 btu Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioners are brand new this year. They have a variable speed compressor that is far more efficient than previous models. They are ridiculously quiet compared to previous Furrion and Coleman systems.
The Furrion Chill Cubes also have the new coolant called R32. This was a EPA mandated decision this year. Part of this upgrade means that nothing made with the R32 coolant in it, like item # FR95TD you were looking at, fits any system made before 2025 that has the older R410A coolant. R32 is more efficient but none of the new components work with the prior systems.
What AC system do you currently have and is it ducted or ductless?

Thanks for the reply Jerred. We have a ducted system in a 2004 Alumascape 29' travel trailer. My only concern with the unit you have recommended is its 18K. Our current unit is a discontinued Carrier 13,500BTU. I have no problem spending the extra $$$ for a larger unit, but if an AC unit is too big, it never runs long enough to dehumidify the air. Your thoughts? Thanks again, Rick
