Base Plate Kit for 2017 Ford F-150 With Blue Ox Tow Bar

Question:

I bought a blue ox tow bar set up. I have a 2017 F150 and need the truck brackets. What do you recommend for my truck?

Hey Michael! Since you already have a Blue Ox tow bar you will need the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BO74FR so the two will be compatible. Do you have the rest of your setup already? If not I recommend the following:

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled # RM-15267

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251

OR

-Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # SM99243

-Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

You will need to choose your brake system based on whether your motorhome has hydraulic or air brakes. In addition to these parts you may need a high-low adapter to keep your setup level. The Blue Ox base plate has a bracket height of 17-1/2" so you can use that information, along with your hitch height, to see if an adapter is needed. I attached a help article below which explains how to measure, along with a link to our available adapters.
