How to Identify Replacement Leaf Springs

Question:
Hi, I am having trouble understanding what leaf springs to buy. I have an 18 year old tandem boat trailer. I measured center to center on the double eyed springs and I get 26 5/8. They are 4 leaf. I cant seem to find this type of replacement spring anywhere.

Hey Don! Do you know your axle capacity? This information is something you will need, along with that leaf spring length. I'm assuming these are worn out so you either need to account for that in your measurement or measure the flat length as outlined in the article I linked further down on this page. Leaf count isn't overly important as long as the rating and length are correct.
If you have a 6,000 lb axle and those leaf springs are pretty flat the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # EM58AJ you looked at will likely work as a replacement. This is 25-1/8" long which would be more in line with your leaf springs when they were new. If you have something else let me know your capacity/measurements in the comments below and I'll see if we have a better fit available.

Hey Don, did you get a chance to measure your axle capacity or try out the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring I mentioned? I'm curious to know if it worked out for your trailer since it might help others in a similar situation.
