Hey Richard, interesting question. There would be no way to convert a bumper hitch receiver over to a 5th wheel. Both are completely different towing systems, and would require different equipment.

If you need to tow a 5th wheel, you would need to install a 5th wheel hitch in the bed of your truck. What is the year, make, model and bed size of your truck? Does it have any kind of factory 5th wheel prep in the bed? Let me know and I am happy to recommend a 5th wheel hitch for you.

Hey Richard, did you get a chance to check your truck’s details and bed setup for a possible 5th wheel hitch? Once you have that info, I can help narrow down the right option. Let me know what you find.

@JesseM There is a camper in the bed of my truck. Hnense my question. I know that a fifth wheel can be turned in yo a gooseneck. What could stop that gooseneck from further being capable of reliever attachment?

@Richard Yes there are adapters for 5th wheel to gooseneck, but 5th wheel/gooseneck and bumper pull/receiver attachments are just completely different towing systems that require different equipment. Gooseneck/5th wheel trailers have more tongue weight than bumper pull and they are designed to have their pin weight center over the rear axle of the truck. True gooseneck and bumper pull trailers can use the same 2-5/16" ball size but hooking a gooseneck up to a bumper pull hitch attachment is considered unsafe and is not something I can recommend. There is not a safe way to haul both a truck camper and the 5th wheel/gooseneck trailer. It can definitely be done with a bumper pull trailer though.
