Hi William,

You can add a 7-way to your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 that has a 4-way and the only thing you'll need for that is the following:

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7

This comes with a 7- and 4-way trailer connector as well as the wiring, circuit breakers, and rest of the hardware needed for installation. So you'll still be able to use a 4-way connection when needed, but also have the ability to use the 7-way and brake controller when that's needed.

As for a Tekonsha p36A1002282, I was unable to find anything with that number, but I assume you meant the Prodigy P3 # 90195, is that correct? If so it should have come with the splice-in pig tail, but if you don't have that you can get one with part # 20127.

Hey William, how did the upgrade to the 7-way connector on your Ram go with the ETBC7 kit? Were you able to keep both the 4-way and 7-way connections working like you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others doing the same wiring setup.
