Looking For Drive-Over Fender To Mount On Deck Of Utility Trailer
Updated 08/15/2024 | Published 08/12/2024 >
Question:
I was wondering if you would have any type of drive over fenders that would mount to a trailer deck. I converted an old pop up camper frame to a utility trailer and the wheels are underneath the deck. The tires have clearance but when the trailer bounces I can hear the tires rub on the deck. Any help is appreciated.

That is a good question, Noah. We do offer trailer fenders like the Single Axle Trailer Fender for Enclosed Trailers # HP39VR you were looking at. They are intended to be placed on the side of a trailer though, and they are not meant to be driven over. Nothing we offer is really intended for that purpose.
Lifting the trailer is a good way to get clearance between the tires and the deck. Adding taller spring hangers is one way to do it. Or if you can tell me the size and weight capacity of your axle I can see if we have a lift kit for you.

I currently have tires that are 20.5X8.0-10. Would swapping this to an 8 inch wheel help my deck clearance issue? What would be the negatives of going from a 10 inch wheel to an 8 inch wheel? Thanks

I have a weird situation. I modified an old pop up camper frame into a utility trailer and the leaf springs are mounted differently than they would normally be. I don’t know if there’s a way to send pictures but it’s hard to explain over email.
