When Replacing Dometic AC With Furrion 15K Will I Need Additional Parts?

Question:

Trying to finalize a decision. With the Furion Chill FR42PV, as a replacement to my Dometic unit 59516.531, will I need; a new thermostat? lower panel air distribution box? additional wiring harness? My current heat strip is not working and I would like to add a new one with this unit. What will I need? I was reading the Q&A section and saw the FR92PR. Do I need this? Trying to get clarity for a seamless replacement installation. Thank you. Reply

The Furrion Chill HE # FR42PV is just going to be a replacement rooftop unit only. Since you have a heat strip which has failed you might consider switching to the Furrion AC System # FR55PV and their Heat Strip # FR27PR. This would make everything compatible without having to ensure you find the correct Dometic heat strip.

I see the Advent Air ACDOM150 with the heat strip ACMHD is suggested as a replacement for the Dometic unit that I have, by one of your colleagues. Will this work and will it require additional accessories? The furion chill is a little bigger footprint which could come into play on the deck of the boat. Thank you.

@ScottL To use the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner # ACDOM150 with the Heat Strip # ACMHD you will also need an Advent Air Distribution Box # ACDB. This means you will not be able to use your Dometic air distribution box, controller or thermostat.
