Recommended Replacement For A Samsung MC1015WB/BB RV Microwave

Question:

2005 Itasca Cambria 23d. I would like to replace the Samsung MC1015WB/BB microwave. Any suggestions on how to remove the trim so I have better access to the microwave to determine size etc. Three screws on top and bottom removed, but the trim plates dont come off. Might there be clips? Thank you

I was able to find an online version of your Samsung MC1015WB/BB microwave and got the exterior dimensions (20-23/64 wide x 12-13/64" tall x 20-1/8" deep) so that we can find a suitable replacement. I wasn't able to find anything on the trim kit, but having dealt with a few different it sounds like there's most likely either a strip of some double sided tape hold the pieces in place or there are smaller bracket pieces that slide into a hole and drop down a bit to lock in place. I recommend trying to pry up on the trim pieces and see if they will budge at all.

As for the replacement, I recommend the High Pointe Standard RV Microwave # HP39ZR. It has slightly smaller dimensions so it will fit the space and comes with a trim ring as well to help cover up any gaps.

Aloha Kevin, much appreciation for this information as I also have a microwave Serial# 75AT900266Z Model# MC1015BB. Ours stopped working when the breaker popped as I believe we had too much going (space heater, dehumidifier). We tried to reset the breaker and no good. I wanted to ask if this style microwave has a fuse inside the microwave that may need to be replaced please? The breaker is a dual 20amp that also has a GFCI on the other 20amp shared breaker to the microwave. Any support to help work through this would be appreciated. Mahalo Kamakakoa

@Kamakakoa The model number came back as a Samsung microwave and did have a 20amp, 250v slow-blow cartridge fuse listed as a replacement part and the parts diagram I could find shows it sitting above the motor fan. I haven't had one of these to disassemble yet so I don't know exactly how to get to the fuse but most manufacturers will typically build it so that once you remove the control panel on the front of the unit you can gain access to the internal components.

@KevinC Mahalo for the support on this one. Do you have the diagram of where the motor is please or a picture of the location of the motor?

@Kamakakoa We don't but I've emailed you a link to another place that does have a full parts diagram of your microwave.
