Troubleshooting A Pace Edwards Bedlocker Tonneau Cover That Won't Open Or Close Electronically

Question:

I have a pace Edwards power tonneau cover, it would not open but it would close now it does neither. I changed battery in remote. Could it be the receiver? If so can I get a replacement? I pulled the unit a part to trouble shoot it but I do not have a schematic to know which wire I need to test at which time for each function. Any help you can give me would be great. A

There isn't a wire schematic available to the public for the Pace Edwards Bedlocker Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-M-BLFA18A44, but it's just a power and ground wire combination so there really isn't much to it. I recommend checking the power at the cover to ensure that there isn't a drop in power somewhere along the wires. You'll also want to trace the wires to see if there's any damage to the wire that could be causing a short.

If you lost power the remote could have unpaired itself from the cover and needs to be paired again using the steps listed below from the manual.

You can also try installing a manual switch kit # 311-BL-1120 in order to have a direct line to the motor to see if there's anything wrong internally that could be causing the problem. If this works, but the remote still doesn't after being paired then the remote could be the issue or the receiver built inside the cover could be the issue. If this is the case then you'll want to reach out to the manufacturer for a replacement.

I have 6 wires two pair of red and black and a purple and gray. I've tried different combinations it was dark and the tracks were getting stuck so I had to take it all apart. Now I've cut wires of fitting and I guess pulling it out pulled off fitting from wires to control box inside. I haven't been able to find wiring diagram. Any tips?

@John At this point you should really reach out to Pace since you're thinking you pulled the wiring from the controller. What specific cover do you have?
