Can The Furrion Chill HE Manual RV Air Conditioner System Replace A Dometic AC System
Question:
I am planning to replace 2 Dometic AC units in my 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor with Furrion Chill units. I have an old 4 button CCC installed. I believe the easiest, and most economical install would be to use the Manual 1500BTU Furrion units. I do not want to have to run new cables for a thermostat replacement. Also, I understand that the actual thermostat for Furrion is located in the unit, so only drawback would be setting the manual controls. Please advise me of your thoughts and if you have units in stock for June delivery. Thanks so much for your time,

The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR92PR are a bit more cost friendly and would not require you to run any new thermostat wires since the controls are built right into the air distribution box cover. The downside to this is that you aren't setting the temperature to an exact number, but rather just a dial and you would have to reach up to the ceiling in order to adjust the controls. If your ceilings are high then this wouldn't be the best option and routing the wires for the a wall thermostat system like part # FR55PV would be the better choice.

Thanks for the answer. I did install 2 units and they work great. The only thong I do not like is the continual fan. I understand the reason for it, but I was wondering if I could replace the manual air distribution boxes with ones that would be compatible with a wireless thermostat. Would that configuration require constant fan? Thanks for your time, Jim
