Question:
need to install tow hitch and wiring on 2007 Rav 4. Camper has 7 pin connection i assume brakes. Not sure of what harness to buy as well as brake control . also want to tow just basic utility trailer

In order to tow a trailer with brakes using a 2007 Toyota RAV4 you'll need a few different components. I have attached a list of these for you below.

T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118412
4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L
Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180
Curt Starter Towing Kit part # C45534
I like these parts for you as the hitch is a bolt-on and the wiring is all splice free. This setup might be a bit different than what you're used to in that it doesn't have an in-dash controller but for those who aren't towing every day it's really not needed and this wireless option will serve you well and make for a much easier install.
