Recommended Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit for 2020 Winnebago Voyager 2427RB

Question:

I have a 2020 winnebego voyage 2427rb tandem axel travel trailer With 3 inch diameter , 5200 pound axels With a GVRW 10400 pounds.... the roadmaster comfort ride system w/shocks has 2 models RM-2460-2560 for up to 5000 pound axels or the RM-2460-2570 for up to 7000 pound axels. The smaller version would be UNDER by 400 pounds and the larger version would be OVER by 3600 pounds for my tandem axels. Would the larger be too much leaf spring overkill ? Will the gas shocks mitigate the 3600 pound slipper leaf spring overkill? Also considering JUST going with roadmaster shock kit and adding an upgraded cushioning center shackle. Not sure which way to go , HELP?

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and they informed me that you should use the 5,000 Lb Rated Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit part # RM-2460-2560 with 5,200 lb axles. I asked about using the 7,000 Lb Rated Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit part # RM-2460-2570 but they stated this would not put enough weight on the system for it to engage properly therefore is not advised.

The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit we have found in our testing to provide a much better ride quality than using just cushioned equalizers even with adding shocks therefore this is what I recommend. The Roadmaster Comfort is actually one of the best options you can take to increase ride quality and decrease wear and tear on the trailer. It will take a bit of work to get installed but once you do, there will be no regrets.

If you just want to add shocks, these are available as the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers part # RM-2460 just keep in mind you'll need to drill into the frame to install these.
