Recommended 6 Ski and 4 Snowboard Carrier for a Roof Rack

Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier - Slide Out - 6 Pairs of Skis or 4 Boards - Gray Item # GRR6G Would this mount/attach on a Yakima Mount? I have a Rivian R1T and the crossbars are made by Yakima. The Yakima FatCat Evo6 is actually what is recommended by Rivian but I prefer the Kuat. Also, is the T-Channel mount needed? Thanks

Yes, the Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier item # GRR6G or item # GRR6B will work with your Rivian's Yakima crossbars. These will attach to any crossbar that is up to 4-1/4" wide and to my knowledge Yakima doesn't make one anywhere near that wide. This will be easy to confirm and I recommend doing so.
The T-Channel Mount Kit for Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier item # GRDMK is not needed as the rubber-coated stainless steel straps will easily wrap around your Yakima crossbars. Any height difference when using the mount kit over the straps would be minor if noticeable at all. I recommend not using the mount kit and saving the money and effort installing it.
I linked a couple of pictures below so you can see what the Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier item # GRR6G looks like when installed on a set of aero crossbars. I also found a review video I have attached as well. This video or the pictures won't be on a Rivian but it will give you a great idea of what to expect.
