Will the Yakima Stage 2 Rack fit a 2011 Toyota RAV4 w/ Rear Spare Tire Carrier?

Hello, I am wondering if the Yakima Stage 2 bike rack will fit on a 2011 Toyota RAV4 with the external/rear-mounted spare tire. The rack needs to hold the closest bike and fold up, without hitting the spare tire on the back door. Thank you for any info you can provide!

We haven't tested this bike rack out on a 2011 Toyota RAV4 with the rear mounted spare tire so I called Yakima to ask them about your question. They didn't have that specific of information on their Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack for 2 Bikes item # Y47VR but they were able to give me a partial answer and a way for you to confirm it will work. You will have no problems with your bike contacting the rear of your RAV4 when mounted on the carrier. In order to confirm the carrier will work in the folded position you will need to measure from your hitch pin hole to the rear of your RAV4 to the farthest point the tire carrier sticks out. The StageTwo Bike Rack item # Y47VR closet point is 10" from the pin hole. If your spare tire carrier is less than 10" past the pin hole on your hitch then this bike rack will fit in the folded position. I have linked a diagram I made below that will help you find out if this bike rack will fit your RAV4.
