Is It Ok For The B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler To Sit Slightly Crooked Once Installed
Updated 11/15/2021 | Published 11/13/2021 >
Question:
Hi, I recently bought my first gooseneck and as I have a short bed truck I also bought the BandW offset coupler. Today I put it on the trailer for the first time and it sits crooked, if I change holes it just becomes crooked in the other direction. Is there something Im doing wrong?

As the B&W Extend-A-Goose Gooseneck Coupler # BWTEXA4200 is a universal coupler, it has to be able to work with different trailers. This means the adjustment holes are offset a little and can cause the coupler to sit a little crooked once installed. This is perfectly normal and, though hard to see, I included an install/review video where this is also happening.
With that being said, if it is severely crooked, you can drill a new hole in the outer sleeve (not the # BWTEXA4200) to get the coupler to sit perfectly straight if needed. But if it is just off by a little bit, you are perfectly fine.
