Question:

Hi, So glad to find your site! Hope to flat tow a Smart Car, but need to know exactly what to buy. Also, would travel to you for modifications or buy a tow-ready Smart Car from you if you sell them. Want Smart Car because have a Class B motorhome. I am looking to purchase a 2016 smart fortwo Coupe with 6-speed automatic

While we do not sell 2016 Smart fortwo vehicles that are prepped to flat-tow, we do offer the parts you need for flat-towing an existing 2016 Smart fortwo you own. If you are planning to flat-tow a 2016 Smart fortwo with an automatic transmission on a class B motorhome, it is important to note that the owner's manual for the vehicle does not recommend flat-towing for more than 50km, so it is not recommended. However, to tow the Smart fortwo, you will need the following parts:

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-52300-5
- Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch # RM-520
- RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643
- Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7

This setup will give you everything you need in order to flat-tow a 2006 Smart fortwo. If you need any assistance with what is involved in the installation process, I went ahead and linked videos that walk you through them.

@HiS The Battery Disconnect # RM-766 isn't required, but it will make life easier, especially if you plan on flat towing frequently. Bob should have also added in a brake system into this answer so for that I recommend the Brake Buddy Select 3 # HM39524 as it's easy to setup (after the initial installation) and you won't have to find room for any boxes or anything to permanently fit inside your vehicle.
