Comparing B&W And Draw-Tite Class V Trailer Hitches For 2004 Ford F-250/350 King Ranch
Question:
I have a 2004 King Ranch with the 6.0 short bad I’m replacing the factory hitch which is a V Siri’s and I’m looking at the Bandw and this draw tite class v-2 with the 2.5 Receiver. All my hitches are 2 inches if I buy the reducer will this still give me the pulling and tongue weight I’ll be pulling at 28 foot toy hauler. O I’d like to keep my spare tire up under the truck also. The pitch is of the factory hitch I’d like it to come out even with my bumper the factory set about 2 inch behind the bumper it dose not come out even.

I would be happy to help!
Both the Draw-Tite Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT45508 and the B&W Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25230 you were looking at for your 2004 Ford F-250/350 King Ranch will stick out from the bumper slightly like you are wanting as you can see in the two included pictures.
The Draw-Tite will only work with spare wheels up to 18", where the B&W will work with all full size spare tires so you will need to check which size spare tire is installed under your truck.
Using a reducer like the # BWRHXA2182 to reduce the 2-1/2" receiver on the Draw-Tite Hitch to 2" to work with your 2" hitch accessories will not reduce the capacities of the hitch in any way.
Now for which hitch I recommend for you, I recommend the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25230 . The reason for this is the 2004 Ford F-350 has a maximum towing capacity of 13400lbs depending on the options and since this hitch has a 16000lb trailer weight rating and 1600lb tongue weight rating it is already rated plenty high. Going with the higher rated Draw-Tite hitch will not increase the capacities of the truck as you are limited to the lowest rated component which would be the truck.
I included a video of the # BWHDRH25230 being installed for you to take a look at.
