Recommended Wheel and Tire to Replace 7.00 x 15 Tires on 1978 Holiday Rambler

Updated 11/04/2020 | Published 11/02/2020

Question:

Hello, I purchased 1978 Holiday Rambler RV trailer and it had the older style brake hub Dexter 8-147 with 7.00x15 tires. I changed over to Dexter 8-247 brake hub with 5-4.5” bolt pattern. I need wheels and tires, I will be using the RV to travel on the highway for long distance. Your help will be greatly appreciated Thank you in advance

For a 15" tire I recommend the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E Item # AM10303. Then for the wheel, you could go with the Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - White Powder Coat, Item # AM20551 or something similar. We do not have this combination premounted. You would have to have them mounted at a local shop.

This wheel/tire will be comparable size to the old tires and they have a 2830-lbs per tire capacity, so they should provide plenty of capacity for your Holiday Rambler. These tires are also rated for up to 81mph, so they're perfectly designed for highway travel.
