I spoke with my contact at Extang a while back about the install of the front clamp for Trifecta Cover part # EX1034 and he said that you need to disconnect the screws from the crossbow of the cover so that it will drop down and the cab clamp assembly will then be able to slide out of the rail. I attached a picture that illustrates this as well.

This doesn’t show anything but how to clamp an existing clamp to the rim of the bed. I need info on removing old then replacing with a new rear clamp on the Extang Trifecta original. Thanks

@Vicki True the picture isn't super helpful but did you see the text in the answer I wrote above it that details more?

@JamesonC Yes, I read everything I could find online. The most helpful was the post that admitted that Extang actually doesn’t have a video showing a proper way to replace this piece. So I said screw this. I went out, figured it out by myself and put it back together by myself. It entails folding back the tailgate third of the cover, taking out 1 screw on each tailgate-side hinge, then disengaging the hinges. Then I needed to take out a single screw from either side of the rail that holds the clamps. Using a rubber mallet and alternating sides (2 people, 2 mallets would have been awesome) I nudged the whole rail off the frame. I removed the bad clamp, replaced with a new clamp. I then reversed the procedure but first I sprayed some lube on the channel that the rail needed to slide back in on. Using the mallet I nudged the rail back in place, screwed it in snugly and the reattached the tailgate-side hinge.

@Vicki Wow! Sorry we didn't have better resources for the install process but I am glad you figured it out and passed on to us what the real process is.
