Will the Curt C15703 Fit a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed with Factory Hitch
Updated 07/10/2020 | Published 07/08/2020 >
Question:
the info states it will not fit my 2004 silverado2500 hd 6.5 ft box if it had a factory installed hitch. exactly what does that mean? are the frames different?

Expert Reply:
The frames of the 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with short beds aren't going to be any different than standard beds or those trucks with hitches already installed, you just would not be able to install this hitch receiver as part of a dual hitch setup.
The Curt # C15703 does not allow for that setup and can only be used as a single installed hitch, but all you would need to do is remove your factory 2" receiver and install this one and it will work just fine.
I've linked an installation video of this hitch for you to have a look at and see how it installs.
