Modern Size Replacements Needed for 7.00 x 14 Tires on Boat Trailer

Question:

Hello, What is an equivalent tire for my single axle boat trailer that now has 7.00 x 14 LT Load range C? Also, I am assuming 50psi, but dont see it on the tire, I am helping a friend with new boat. They seem to run great on the highway. Thank you

The closest modern tire size to the 7.00 x 14 size you mentioned would be a ST205/75-14.

The two load range C tires we offer are part # AM1ST86 in bias ply and # AM10234 in radial.

The ST205/75-14 is about an inch larger in diameter and 3/4 of an inch wider than the tires you currently have.

The load range C bias ply tire in that size is rated for 1,760 lbs at 50 psi. The radial is rated a bit higher at 1925lbs at 60 psi. For optimal tire performance and to realize the full load bearing capability of the tire, it should be kept inflated to the maximum pressure as listed on the tire sidewall.

Yes, you'll be able to use your existing wheels when switching to ST205/75-14 size tires.

I have a trailer with 7.00 14 tires and I would like to get something the same height and width. Don't have much room to work with. Possibly something a tad shorter would work, but I am at a loss. I know the 7.00 14 is a Heavy duty tire, so what's out there that will work. Thank You Dave

@David A 205/75-14 is the closest modern tire size to the 7.00-14 tire. It's about a half inch smaller in diameter, which will lower the trailer's floor height by 1/4 inch and 1 inch wider which will move the inner sidewall of the trailer a 1/2 inch closer to the trailer. We have that size in a load range D which has a 2200 lb per tire capacity as part # AM10235 or in a load range C with a 1925 lb rating per tire as part # AM10234.
