So the answer to this really depends on the diameter of the bars on your lumber rack. If they are less than 2 inches then you can use the Rhino-Rack Fishing Rod Carrier - Locking - 8 Fishing Rods # RR574F on your lumber rack. To do so you would need the Heavy-Duty Crossbar Adapter Kit # HD-FK1.

The lumber rack is exacly 2 inches , you stated they would fit if they were under 2 inches. Will this work or should i look for a different product

The Heavy-Duty Crossbar Adapter Kit for Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier, Kayak Carrier, or Fairing # HD-FK1 gives you 55mm long hardware which is 2.1653 inches. Since your bars are 2 inches, you may need longer hardware. These bolts are m6 x 55mm so you would simply need longer m6 screws to allow the rod carrier to fit.
