Installing a Napa Pilot Trailer Brake Controller on a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a napa trailer brake controller that I install myself, i wired the red/black to black. White to white. White/blue to red and blue to blue. I connected stud 1 and 2 added necessary 30amp fuse and 40 amp fuse plus checked the 15 amp fuse #6 and still no power. Any ideas?

I recommend checking the connections on all of the wires to make sure they're functioning correctly using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993. It's possible that you've got a wire that has been disconnected or the connection is bad. You'll want to test all of these on the vehicle side first to verify that everything is connected correctly. Since the issue seems to be on the power wire, if you're getting power on the wire running into the vehicle and on the controller side of the connection, it's possible you just have a faulty brake controller that won't accept power. If you're not getting power anywhere, the fuses may not be correctly installed.
The fuse locations will be right next to the power posts at the front of the power distribution box. I am including a video link to a Prodigy P2 brake controller being installed on a 2009 Chevy Silverado. At the 5:05 time stamp on the video it will show exactly where the fuses are located.
If all of your wiring has been tested and power is being supplied via the red/black wire all the way to the controller- the controller is most likely bad. You may want to consider replacing it with something like the Tekonsha Prodigy 2 # 90885 which is one of our most popular brake controllers. The P2 is a proportional brake controller that features automatic leveling and will work with up to 4 trailer axles. As an added bonus, which might be applicable in this situation, the Tekonsha P2 has a lifetime warranty.
I've linked a number of videos that go over the installation process of various brake controllers on a Chevy Silverado that you might find helpful during this troubleshooting process.
