Will a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban Support a Power Wheelchair Lift
Question:
What is the tongue weight for a 2007 Chevy Suburban LT 1500. Would it be enough to carry a power wheelchair lift?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The tongue weight capacity of your 2007 Chevrolet Suburban is 600 lbs. Therefore, the weight of the wheelchair lift and wheelchair cannot exceed this figure. That said, if you will be loading this much weight on the trailer hitch then you will want to consider using a set of suspension enhancements so you don't lose stability or decrease braking power.
The added tongue weight will essentially remove weight from the front axle which is where roughly 60% of your braking comes from which is why you need to use a set of suspension enhancements to then transfer weight back onto the front axle. I recommend the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs part # AL60769 because they are adjustable, easy to install, and cost effective.
