How to Remove Play and Rattle from Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
How big is the shank when measured with a dial caliper? My truck receiver is 2.09 and the last hitch I bought was 1.980 and was very loose. Im looking for a better fitting hitch.

The rattle or play you experienced is very common and the solution isn't to replace the ball mount with a tighter fitting one as that's not really possible but is to use an anti-rattle device like the part # 63232. This installs in the shank of the ball mount and when tightened holds it tight to the inside of the hitch tube and cuts out all of the play and movement. The # 63232 actually doubles as a hitch lock as well which is nice and also will work great with the part # 80796.
I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.
