Comparing Reese Elite and M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch
Question:
I was wondering which of these 2 5th wheel hitches would be a better fit for my 2018 Rockwood 5th wheel with the Reese Revolution pin box. I have a 14 F350 shortbed with the Ford prep 5th wheel package. I was looking at either the Reese M5 RP30921 using the universal wedge that comes with the pin box or the Reese RP30142 using the SW-009 wedge?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Reese Hitch M5 Fifth Wheel # RP30921 has the edge over the Elite part RP30142 that you also mentioned. They both share very similar heads/jaws and provide excellent king pin contact but the advantage the M5 has is that it has cushioning built into it to provide a smoother ride quality.
With the RP301412 you'd use the included universal wedge of your Reese Revolution and for the M5 you would want to use the RP44FR. You'd want to use the short end of it.

I have a 18k reese elite series 5th wheel hitch. Do the M5 legs for the 2018 Chevy factory prep package fit on my elite hitch? If not, do you have legs for the Elites series to fit the 2016-2019 gm prep package?
