What is the Difference Between the B&W Companion 20K and 25K 5th Wheel Hitches Aside from Capacity

What is the difference between the 25k Bandw companion and the 20k Bandw companion are the heads different or is it the base ?

The B&W Companion 20k # BWRVK3300 and 25k # BWRVK3305 base and head are going to differ in their components and construction, which results in the 25k hitch being about 10-lbs total heavier than the 20k hitch; so the 25k hitch head and base is a little bit "beefier" than the 20k version. Typically the components that are upgraded for the higher capacity is slightly thicker steel, heavier duty bushings and other small components that add a bit of capacity to the setup.

In spite of the component and construction differences, the design of the hitches makes them cross compatible, so you would be able to use a 25k head on 20k legs. Even though this is possible, in this case, you would be limited by the lowest rated component in your setup-which would be 20000-lbs.
