I want to replace my Carrier Air V but do not need heat pump. What do you recommend? 2005 Outback RV.

In order to replace your Carrier Air V RV Air Conditioner I highly recommend using the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup part # ACCAR135 for 13,500 Btu's or part # ACCAR150 for 15,000 Btu's. This unit will be the only direct replacement we offer that will use the ceiling vent and thermostat that you have now for your Carrier unit.

This means the process to install the new unit will be extremely easy as it is all pretty much just plug and play. The Advent unit also comes with a start capacitor which reduces the amount of watts required to start the unit. This unit does not come with a heat pump so no worries here.

The Advent Air AC units mentioned above could be used in either the front or rear. Most likely the two ACs on your Presidential 5th Wheel are the same - but it definitely wouldn't hurt to check for sure. One might be a higher Btu model for better circulation in one area of the trailer over another.

@JonG Jon I have the same issue my Carrier A/C Controller for A/C Unit Model # 68RV15102A controls my propane furnace after shutting down the A/C. Mine does not have heat strips or heat pump. I have read all that has been supplied on your web site. From what you said above to Chris R. So if I order the ACCAR150 this will directly replace my Carrier Unit and the furnace will work through the controls. Just wanted to double check before I placed the order. Thanks.

I have a Dometic non ducted on my Wolf Pup 16fq (not sure of the model) the control panel has 3 coolling settings and it seems to work fine however the fan never stops, it continuously runs no matter what the temp. I've read that this is normal for non ducted airconditioners. My question is can I replace this air unit with one that will utilize a thermostat so that the fan will cycle off when the temp gets cool enough? Thanks.

The Advent Air AC # ACM150 is a perfect replacement for this application. It's designed to work with existing Dometic components so you'll be able to use it with your current thermostat to control operation of the fan.

The new Advent Air AC unit will use a different motor. It's not an exact replacement for your Carrier model but it will work perfectly in its place.

None of the Carrier-replacement models we have available, such as the Advent Air # ACCAR150, feature a built-in heat pump. With this model though you could still add the Heat Strip # ACMHD.

Some of our replacement AC units have plug and play wiring so I'd go with one of those. If you can let me know what your current AC unit is I can see if we have a replacement.

@GregG The Advent Air # ACCAR150 will work great to replace your existing Carrier AC unit. It's a direct replacement so you'll be able to use your remote.

I plan on replacing a Carrier V with the ACCAR150. It is said that this is plug-n-play. My question is to confirm two things. The Carrier V has a wireless thermostat controller that controls all functions; speed, AC, and temperature. Will this continue to work as it does now since I understand the lower portion of the old unit stays installed and only the top portion of new ACCAR150 gets installed? And what about my current Furnace. It operates off the same remote through the lower unit of the Carrier V. Will this still function the same? Is it beneficial to just disconnect the furnace and install the heat strip in the ACCAR150? Can I have both? Thanks,

Since the Advent Air AC Unit # ACCAR150 is plug and play it will function just like your Carrier V when plugged into the wiring system. The only time you'll want to add the heat strip is if you get rid of your furnace.

@Amy No, there's not. That's a pretty old question and towards the end the Advents were not plug and play like they used to be. I would need to know what make and model your current AC system is to recommend a replacement option.

@Amy To replace just a standard Carrier Air V system you'll want the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV44FR in black or item # ADV94FR in white. This includes a new ac unit, diffuser box, and thermostat. There are no replacement AC units for Carrier Air V system so you'll need to swap out the entire system. The plug and play functions weren't lining up across different manufacturer's and warranties were voiding as soon as you used an Advent AC with a different brand of air box and thermostat.
