This system was designed for replacing Carrier units like what you have as easily as possible. This is the same 13.5k BTU and has a start up capacitor that stores energy so you always have enough power to start your AC.
The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner item # ACCAR135 allows you to use the same controls you have now as well as provides you with a super simple installation that requires minimal wiring.
