Question:
I have a 2016 caravan my question is the van has a 6 speed trans , I tow my boat and a flatbed trailer with whatever I need to get home , my boat is about 2000 lb and the trailer I never tow anything over the same amount . What gear should I tow in ? all my other cars just had drive and over drive simple take it out of over drive when towing the dodger has 6 gears so should I tow in 4 or 5th gear when towing or leave it in 6 th gear and just shift when in the hills

You'd want to leave your 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan transmission in overdrive for the most part. If you found yourself towing in a hilly area with a lot of upshifting and downshifting you might select a lower gear just to prevent some of that but for the most part overdrive would be just fine.
A really great idea is a transmission cooler like the Derale part # D13503. Since the number one killer of transmissions is heat, and towing creates a lot of heat, a cooler will help prolong the life of the transmission.
