Expert Reply:
The Camco Wrench for Screw-In Water Heater Element # CAM09883 is a socket for the 1-1/2 inch nut on water heater elements. You can however use a box end wrench, channel locks, or a plumbers wrench if needed. Often sediment and corrosion can make it difficult to remove an old element so a good connection is important.
