Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar and Supplemental braking for 2013 Ford Fusion Energi

Question:

I am compiling the necessary equipment for towing a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi and I also want in the future to be able to use the same tow bar and supplementary brake system for a 2007 Chevy Avalanche 6.0L. The Blue Ox BX7365 should meet the need but what base plate should I use since the BX2646 does not list compatibility with the Energi version? Will the BLU37TR work for both vehicles or should I get the Roadmaster Invisibrake RM8700 and later get the 2nd vehicle kit RM-98700 for the Avalanche? If I get the RM-8700, I will not need a line charger since the Invisibrake comes with one, correct? What light wiring do I need for the Fusion Energi? Thanks,

Roadmaster has a base plate kit that fits your 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Hybrid but Blue Ox does not. For that you'd need the part # RM-524437-4 which is a confirmed fit. To still use a Blue Ox tow bar like the part # BX7380 you referenced with this kit you'd need the adapter part # RM-032 and you'd be set.

For towing two vehicles I'd recommend a temporary install supplemental braking kit like the Patriot part # BLU37TR that you mentioned over a permanent install kit like the Invisibrake. This will make the transition between the two vehicles easier and won't cost quite as much.

For lighting you'd want to use a magnetic kit since none of the diode or bulb/socket kits are confirmed as a fit for your vehicle since it has variable voltage taillights. This also will easily transfer to your other vehicle. No charge line is recommended for the hybrid either.
