Replacement Tire for Old DR 78-14 Size Tire

The closest metric size to a DR 78-14 tire is the 185/80-14. Acceptable replacements are also the 185/80Rl4, 195/75Rl4, 205/70Rl4, 205/65Rl4, 215/60Rl4, and 245/50Rl4. Based on my research, the closest size trailer tire is the Taskmaster ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TR20514. This tire has a section width of 8 inches and outer diameter of 26.14 inches so it will be slightly wider and taller.

You simply need to make sure you have the minimum 4-1/2 inches of clearance from the center of your tire to the frame rail to ensure you won't have any tire rub. You also want 3-4 inches of clearance from the top of the tire to the wheel well to allow suspension movement.
