What is Normal Temperature Rating for Trailer Hubs

Question:
Ive been running your red grease in my 3500# Dexter axles with electric brakes on my 16 ft tandem axle trailer. I decided to check the hub temperature on my last trip with a load. After 2 hours the temp was 115-125 deg F. After 4 hours it was up to 150-160 deg F. Is this normal? The return trip unloaded showed about the same. Ambient was in the low 90s. The temps are pretty close on all four hubs.

Yes, the temperatures you mentioned are normal. If you were getting over 200 degrees that would be a bad sign. But typically if all of the hubs are the same temperature you're good and it's only really an issue if one of the hubs is hotter than others and that axle isn't the sole brake axle.
If you have a tandem axle setup and only one has brakes the one with brakes will get a lot hotter.

Unless one axle has WORKING brakes. Then the hubs on the braked axles will get MUCH hotter. I have a 2010 Bryant 210 on a Shorelander trailer. When I first bought the boat the brakes did not work and all the hubs were about the same temp. After I fixed the brakes the hubs on the braked axles go a lot hotter.

Afternoon, I have a Jayco double axle TT most of the hubs are running at 110 to 120 degrees. However, One hub measured 157 degrees after hour and half road trip (outside temp was 86) I have recently put new lippert self adjust backing plates and new hubs/bearings, bearings were lubed using easy lube system. Any suggestions on what the cause of the difference might be. Could weight over that hub be a cause. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How much of a temperature differential is concerning? After pulling into a campsite I checked my hubs. 2 were around 100°, 1 at 108°, and 1 at 120°. I just repacked the bearings before the trip. Should I check the bearings again on the hot hub?
