Recommended Towing Package for 2018 Kia Soul Exclaim

Question:
I have a 2018 Kia Soul Exclaim its a turbo model 6 speed automatic standard/sport shift. I want to be able to pull a flat bottom or v hull 16foot aluminum boat. Tongue weight will be no problem and neither will the 2,000lb tow. As with most the issue becomes the transmission over heating if one doesnt control the shifting keeping it from bouncing around the upper gears thus the sport shift mode. Am I wrong in thinking that this hitch will work? If so do you have a hitch that will handle this relatively light task? Thanks for your time and attention.

For your 2018 Kia Soul Exclaim, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11419. This is a fit for all models except the electric EV. This hitch install requires removing the splash guards and wheel well liners. You are correct this is a fit for your vehicle.
Then for your trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118637. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Kia Soul's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove three screws on each side to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead with the attached fuse holder to the car battery. Connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse. You will also want the mounting bracket # 18144 and # 18140.
I then recommend the ball mount # C45521 along with pin and clip # F-4. For a 1-7/8 inch diameter hitch ball, use # A-80. For a 2 inch hitch ball use # A-82.
