Can Roller Bunks be Used on a Pontoon Boat Trailer

Question:

Would the roller bunks work for a pontoon boat trailer and if so, how many would I need? It is for the trailer that comes with a bass buggy dlx 18.

You could use roller bunks such as # DL21740 on a pontoon boat trailer. If the pontoons sit on carpeted bunks and support the boat then you would need to place rollers the whole length of each of the carpeted bunks.

Set # DL21741 is rated higher at 3,000 pounds per set and longer at 5 feet so I recommend going with these over the 4 foot long option.

If the boat is actually supported by the hull then you would need roller bunks placed everywhere the boat makes contact with the trailer. Again I would use # DL21741 but you may also need brackets # DL21742 to get them positioned in the right place.

The more rollers you use the better because the weight of the boat will be distributed over a larger area and not put too much stress in one area of the boat (or rollers).
