Will Trailer Hitch fit 2018 Toyota Highlander With Spare Tire?
Question:
Does this hitch model fit a 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE with a full sized inflated spare/tire and/or able to fit a full-sized flat tire back in the spare location? Also, to install, can this hitch be installed without needing to jack up the rear of the vehicle given the need to lower the muffler?

The Curt # C13394 hitch WILL fit your 2018 Toyota Highlander with a full size spare tire as long as it is not on the aluminum rim; it will need to be removed before installing the hitch and then put back after the hitch is installed. There is a note in the instructions of the hitch (which are linked for you) that says, "You may need to manipulate the rear edge of the spare while raising to clear the hitch."
In terms of jacking up the rear of your '18 Highlander, the muffler does not need to be lowered, per the instructions, making an install without raising the vehicle a bit easier.
Additionally, if you need to add wiring so you can power the lights on your trailer the correct part is # 118449 if your Highlander does NOT have the factory tow package (no converter under the dash) or # HM11141825 if your '18 Highlander DOES have the factory tow package (convereter under the dash); each of these parts will will give you a 4-flat connector.
If you are going to be towing, I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise. I've also attached a link to our pages with each of our ball mounts and hitch balls for you to check out.
