7 and 4-Way Trailer Wiring Connector Recommendation for 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

I recently installed a receiver hitch on my 2015 VW Tiguan. While installing the hitch I noticed what looks like a factory installed trailer wiring harness. I checked on Hopkins website and they indicate this part is compatible with the Toureg, but no mention of the Tiguan. From what I can find online, the factory wiring harness looks the same. Will this work for a 2015 VW Tiguan with a factory trailer wiring harness?

The connector you sent in a picture of is the standard 7-way connector that the Hopkins part # HM40975 is designed to fit. If you plug the # HM40975 into that connector you'll have both a 7 and 4-way trailer wiring connector active.

@JamesonC Is there a fuse that has to be inserted or does the vehicle have to be coded by the dealership?

@Tom Shouldn't need to have any fuses inserted or any computer flashing and it should work as-is.
