Question:
I need help in ing a brake actuator to replace a Atwood 82543. The one I have now is zinc plated eventhough the number on it says elsewhere online it should be painted black. Its on a 1991 single axil EZ Loader trailer . What do you have that would replace it.

The closest option we have to replace your Atwood 82543 actuator is part # DM72VR. However, it doesn't have the lockout like your Atwood does. To add a lockout use # T4748800 but it's an electric lockout unlike the Atwood's manual lockout. It wires into the reverse light circuit on your truck through the trailer connector.
I've attached videos of both actuators for you to take a look at.

Hello. Was hoping to get some help with diagnosing some issues with my surge break. I’ve noticed a loud clunk when accelerating and breaking when pulling the trailer and am seeing break fluid spry on the trailer and seeping out around the cap when stopped.I noticed the similar question above and your team stated you might need to replace the actuator. I’ve since looked for a replacement and noticed you can’t find Atwood parts anymore since they’ve gone out of business. Any direction would be much appreciated. I have pictures I can send if it would help. Thank you
