Weight Distribution Recommendation for 6,000 lb Camper Trailer

Question:
One last question for you on the Equalizer hitch. Can I flip the shank upside down in my truck receiver so the "drop" is pointed upward? Or is the drop design ONLY to be pointed downward? I have a fairly higher ground clearance on my camper and to level my camper the top of my current hitch ball sits 4.5" higher than the top of my receiver, so I would need that shank drop pointed upwards to accommodate. Please let me know.

You'd be fine to have a weight distribution installed on your trailer as you travel on the hill you described. If anything it might help prevent the trailer from leaning excessively.
For a 6,000 lb trailer you'd be looking at a tongue weight most likely of 600 to 900 lbs so the weight distribution with sway control that I would recommend is the Strait Line part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control designed to fight sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

Jameson, I forgot to ask....are you able to back up with this distribution hitch? I've read that some of them you can't reverse unless you unhook torsion bars.
