Troubleshooting Turn Signal Not Working on 2013 Chevy Avalanche Using Multiple Trailers
Question:
Hello, On my 2013 Avalanche the right turn signal does not work. But the left signal works, both brake lights works, and when I turn on the hazard lights, both blink. This has happened on a boat trailer and utility trailer. Any suggestions on troubleshooting the issue?

On your 2013 Chevy Avalanche, I recommend you test the signals at your vehicle side trailer connection when a trailer is not connected using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. It sounds like you have a short in that right turn signal wire or a bad ground to your vehicle. You will want to check the ground connection first to make sure it is bare metal to metal without corrosion or debris. You can use the circuit tester to make sure your wiring is working correctly between your connection to your factory wiring and the trailer plug. If a wire is bad on your harness, you can simply replace it. If you wiring harness has a converter box, you will want to test that signal before the box and then after the box to ensure the box itself is working properly. It definitely sounds like the issue is on the vehicle side because it is the same issue with two separate trailers.
If you need to replace your harness, I recommend the 4 Pole Trailer Connector (Includes Install Kit) # C59496 that comes with a circuit tester.
I've attached a couple articles to help with troubleshooting.
