The axles on your Karavan dual axle boat trailer are likely rated for 3,500 pounds. You can verify this by checking the tag or plate on the axle which should list this information along with the part number and length.
To pick out the correct leaf spring replacements, you will want to measure the length of the spring without any weight on it. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of leaf springs designed for 3,500 pound axles. If you cannot find a length that matches your measurement, keep in mind that older springs will have stretched a bit, so you just want to get as close as possible.
The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e54SR might be a good option. It is rated for 3,500 pound axles and has a length of 25-1/8 inches from center of spring eye to center of spring eye.
For a replacement hanger kit, you can use the Dexter Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APT5, which will include 3-1/4 inch tall hangers, 7-3/4 inch long curved equalizers and the needed shackle straps, shackle bolts and locknuts.
If you need to replace the hubs on the trailer, you will want to determine the existing bolt pattern and the bearings that they use to ensure a compatible replacement. I have included an article that explains how to measure the bolt pattern for you to look through. The easiest way determine which bearings are used is to simply remove a hub from the trailer and look for the numbers that should be stamped into the bearings themselves. If you cannot locate these numbers, you can also take a few measurements along the spindle at various locations where the bearings sit. I have attached an image that shows where these measurements will be taken. I recommend using a digital caliper like # PTW80157 as the measurements will need to be as accurate as possible.
For example, the etrailer.com Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K is designed for 3,500 pound axles and has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649.
I have included a few helpful articles on trailer suspension and hubs that you might also find helpful.
