Recommendation For Trailer Lift Gate Assist
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I need something that I dont know what it is called and cannot find it by searching. I have a tail gate on a trailer that lets down to be a ramp for loading mowers, motorcycles, etc The ramp is 5 foot long and I need something to help lifting it up when closing it. I have seen something that has two cables running down the sides of the trailer and those cables connected to the ramp pull the ramp up. Do you have something similar that you could give me a link to?

Yes. We have two products that meet your description. I recommend the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Cable - 300 lbs # GL1 which is most similar to what you currently have. This has a cable on each side to help with lifting and lowering the tailgate.
The other option is also a good one and can be used on one side or two. It is the Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Chain - 200 lbs # RA-27C. This system uses a springs and chain instead of springs and cable like the other system. The nice part of this system is that if you need to replace a link in the chain you can do so versus replacing the entire cable or unit.
