Question:
Hello - I need some help deciding which sway bar would work best for me. I have a 2011 4x4 Xterra and will be pulling a 2017 Rpod 179. Rpod Hitch weight is 285lbs. Thanks for your help...this is new to me.

The 285-pound tongue weight of your Rpod is likely the dry weight. So, you'll want to factor in anything else that could add to that. The best way to find your actual tongue weight is to use a scale, like # e99044. Also, a weight distribution system is chosen by the total tongue weight of your setup. This will include the weight of anything stored in the back of your Xterra behind the rear axle.
Once you have that determined you can pick a system. I suggest the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66558. This system uses automobile-like friction pads to prevent sway. It's also easy to install since it bolts to your trailer's frame and doesn't use any chains. It's rated for up to 600 pounds tongue weight. You will need a hitch ball to go with it, # 63845 for a 2-inch ball or # 63847 for a 2-5/16 inch.
