Helpful Expert Reply:
The orange wire found under the dash that would provide power to the brake controller is already circuit protected, so you would not need an additional circuit breaker like the # 9506P you referred to.
The wiring connections would be made as follows:
Orange tow pkg wire connects to black wire on controller
Dark blue tow pkg wire connects to blue wire on controller
Light blue tow pkg wire connects to the red controller wire
Black tow pkg wire connects to the white brake controller wire
The Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523 brake controller would need a quick connect pigtail like part # 20127 to connect to the tow package wiring.
I've linked you to a video that will walk you through the installation on a GMC Envoy, which was GMC's version of your Trailblazer.

i just purchased a camper and wish to install a brake control system in my 08 trail blazer. It came factory with a straight 4 plug and I use a 4 to 7 blade adapter. Can i wire this system in line with the straight 4 it came with or do I also need to install the 7 blade kit on my trail blazer?
