Question:

I am looking for a hitch that will allow me to pull a 2000-2500 lb boat. The examples I have read are in regards to bike racks and such. We have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 and were looking for the best hitch for it. Thank you for your help!

A popular trailer hitch for your 2014 Mazda CX-5 is the Curt Class-II # C12170. It will have a 3,500 pound towing capacity and 350 pound tongue weight capacity.

I did some research on your CX-5 and it seems to have a 2,000 pound maximum towing capacity. I would double-check your owners manual because you will not want to exceed it.

The custom wiring is # C56011 and ball mount kit I would go with is # 989891 (2 trailer hitch balls to fit different applications, ball mount with 3/4 inch rise or 2-inch drop, pin and clip, and a storage bag)
