Is There a Tongue Weight Range for Gen-Y Torsion Adjustable Ball Mounts
Question:
So what happens if you use this hitch and your trail that you are pulling does not have that much of a tongue weight? Will it still work??

Expert Reply:
There are ideal tongue weight ranges for the Gen-Y Torsion ball mounts like the part # 325-GH-1224. If you tow a trailer with too low of a tongue weight the torsion spring won't flex as much so the ride quality wouldn't be as ideal. The part # 325-GH-1224 is for tongue weights higher than 1,000 lbs but less than 1,700 whereas the part # 325-GH-1024 (same in every other way) is for tongue weights between 500 and 1,100 lbs.
Sounds like your tongue weight is 1,200 lbs which for that you'd want the part # 325-GH-1224.
