  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount

Hopkins Tow Lights mount on the back of your towed vehicle.

These wireless, removable tow lights make it easy to add running lights, brake lights, and turn signals to your towed car or trailer. With this setup, you won't need to tap into existing wiring for installation. With other magnetic tow lights, you have to run cords from the lights to the front of the towed car or trailer every time you need to tow. These tow lights work wirelessly to eliminate that hassle. And the wireless design also allows you to move the lights from one vehicle to another in minutes.

Hopkins Tow Lights magnetic base.

The lights attach directly to any metal surface with the included heavy-duty, non-scratch magnets, which won't damage your paint. And the handy on/off switch lets you use the lights only when you need them, saving battery power.

The 4-way connector plugs into your vehicle. The transmitter attaches to your tow vehicle via a heavy-duty magnet.

Setup is simple. Plug the included transmitter into the 4-way flat trailer connector on your RV or tow vehicle. The transmitter mounts to the frame of the RV or tow vehicle using the built-in magnet. Turn the switch on the driver's-side light to "on," and attach the tow lights to the back of the towed car or trailer, as far apart as is practical. Secure any excess wire between the 2 lights with a twist tie.

Each light is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). A blinking LED indicator on the face of the driver's-side light signals low battery. This indicator should be checked every 2 hours to be sure your lights still have adequate power.

I just received them and tested them out and they work great. They are very bright and responsive. I look forward to using them in the future when I tow my vehicle behind my RV.

VERY GOOD SERVICE I HAVE ORDER THINGS FROM FOR YEARS I THINK THEY ARE THE BEST BAR NONE

by:

Have issues with lights blinking erratic

by:

Ordered these because my car towing wiring had a problem and didn't have time to get it fixed. First set arrived but had a manufacturing defect and right hand light didn't work (not etrailer's fault!). Called etrailer and they were very accommodating in sending out a second set which arrived in time. The second set worked perfectly. Good service and extensive follow up by etrailer shows they care. I'll use them for other purchases any time!

Still works great. Save us on a trip when the car to RV connection went [bad].

by:

Test connection went perfectly. Will see how it goes when we hit the road in May. The lights look well made and should last me a long time.

Thank for the great service!

by:

No big deal, install batteries and put on toad !

Should have done this years ago before they cut into my tail light wiring and also had to deal with rusted out 4 prong plug in over the years.

Lincoln MKZ

These things are the best thing since sliced bread!
We have a Lincoln MKZ that already has a hitch on the rear for towing a small enclosed trailer. The thought of having to "hard" wire in a wiring harness for towing behind the motorhome that would still allow the trailer to be towed was not a task I was looking forward to. etrailer suggested these as an alternative. Literally plug and play. Just plug the transmitter into the motorhome, install batteries and attach the magnetic based lights to the trunk of the MKZ and presto! DONE! I hooked the car up behind the motorhome and ran it down the freeway at 60-65 mph and all was good. Worked straight out of the box! Fantastic product!

Saturn Ion

These work well, bright. They do eat up regular Duracell batteries. After first use of these I switched to Lithium Ion. The lights were noticeably brighter in the daylight sun. The life of the batteries has drastically improved service. I have a habit of removing the batteries when not in use to enable greater duration; they do have an on/off switch built in, but it's so simple to remove them in case of phantom degradation. Over-all, I am very happy with these and installation on the car is a snap. Love them so far. Would buy/recommend to others.

by:

very easy to see and use. I hope I never have to rewire another old trailer. Love them.

by:

I bought the wireless Hopkins tow lights to temporarily tow my new Jeep behind our Motorhome until I could wire the taillights permanently. I liked them so well that I have never wired the Jeep and only use the wireless taillights.

by:
2011 Ford Taurus

Was absolutely 100% delighted with this product. Drove a total of 2600 miles in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions and these lights worked perfectly. Batteries lasted all most to the end of the trip. I'd recommend this set up to everyone who cannot afford to have wiring redone on a vintage trailer.

by:

Great customer service

by:

Great experience.Fast service.

by:
2010 Honda Element

I have not tried this yet, but the design is excellent! Having a magnet on the transmitter to attach to the tow vehicle was just icing on the cake!

by:

These have been a lifesaver for our camper lights not working properly. Never had an issue with these

by:

Great system

by:

Product appears to work as represented. Have not had it on the road yet.

Lights work great, and battery life is better than expected. Only issue is potential for paint damage... I recommend that the manufacturer consider a softer landing pad to reduce potential for paint scratches.

works just like Quinn said

  • Recommended Magnetic Light Kit for Vehice Carrying Motorcycle
The simplest way to add supplemental lighting to any towing/hauling set-up is a magnetic light kit. Magnetic lights are inexpensive, fast to install and remove and they require no permanent alterations to your carrier or wiring. You could place a set of lights like # TL21RK on the MH's roof where they will be highly visible. These and most similar lights use a 4-pole harness for connection. We offer a wiring extension if needed, # HM47115. We also offer wireless LED magnetic lights, part...

Safe and legal flat towing requires a number of components: tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit, base plates and a supplementary braking system. Based on your troubleshooting efforts and the fact that this product did not operate properly on both of your vehicles I am inclined to think the unit has a defect. But you can easily test it, independent of the vehicles, to isolate the location of the issue. Use a 12V vehicle or spare battery to apply power directly to the wireless transmitter portion of the Hopkins Wireless Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. Connect the battery ground to the pin for the white wire and then apply the battery...

This custom harness is designed to fit earlier model Wranglers (up through the 2018 model year) and isn't compatible with the new generation.
